Danforth Music Hall Rules
To maximize the enjoyment and experience of guests at the Danforth Music Hall, the venue follows some strict policies, outlined below. Please observe these carefully and adhere to them closely during your visit.
As with any popular music venue, there are several important rules for you to follow when attending a show at Danforth Music Hall. Let’s first take a look at the general rules and regulations that guests must follow.
General Regulations
The first thing you should know about the Danforth Music Hall is that professional cameras are not permitted inside the venue without prior media approval. You should always check this before bringing recording equipment into the venue, as you could be refused entry.
Many events are 19+, which requires a valid government-issued photo ID for entry. Keep in mind that for these events, no one under the age of 19 is allowed inside, even if accompanied by an adult. Alcoholic beverages are sold in the lobby but require photo ID for those who appear to be under the legal drinking age. Also keep in mind that Cannabis use is not permitted inside the venue.
You should also keep in mind that the Danforth Music Hall has a strict code of conduct, created to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment. This means that any behavior that disrupts the performance or others can result in immediate ejection from the premises.
Food and Drink
Outside food and drink is not permitted inside the venue, including bottled water. Any food must be left at coat check. The venue sells snack food including hot dogs, candy, and popcorn.
Photography/Camera Use
The policy for photography is particular to each individual show and at the discretion of the artist and organisers. However as a general rule, cell phones and point-and-shoot cameras are permitted, whereas professional recording equipment may only be used if explicit permission is granted in advance from the promoter.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the venue. Anyone found to be violating this policy will be escorted out and not permitted re-entry into the venue.

There are many items that are prohibited in the venue. This is to ensure a good experience and the safety of all guests. Make sure you check the following before you attend a show:
- Outside food and drink (including water)
- Narcotics and illegal substances
- Drug paraphernalia
- Laser pointers
- Spray paint
- Stickers
- Chairs
- Large umbrellas
- Sports balls
- Glow sticks
- Selfie sticks
- Bicycles
- Audio/video recording devices with detachable lenses
- Animals
- Glass containers
- Weapons of any kind
- Any object deemed unsafe or that can be used as a projectile by security/management
